Natures Magnificent Display
THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Join us on a hunt for the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in Iceland. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole. In Iceland the Lights are visible during the winter months only, from around mid September to mid April. Vivid and bright, the dancing Northern Lights are sure a sight to remember. Just dont forget to bring a pair of gloves, a warm hat and your camera!!
Where we go for hunting for the Lights can vary from day to day, depending on weather conditions but also on the Northern Lights forecast itself. We might go up to the west coast, to the east or even out to the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Some of our drivers are experienced Northern Lights photographers and they will gladly offer you tips and advice on how to get the most out of your photography experience.
Please not that as this tour is dependent on weather and aurora activity, sightings are never guaranteed.
However as a rule of thumb we do not go out for the hunt unless being reasonably sure there will be lights.
