The True Sample Of Iceland

On the Golden Circle you will visit some of Iceland's most beautiful and popular sights. The tour starts with the Thingvellir National Park, a geological and historical wonder, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are constantly pulling apart. The park is also historically significant as its where the Icelanders founded their open air parliament in 930 AD.

Thingvellir National Park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From Thingvellir the tour goes on to the Geysir Geothermal area where the Strokkur geysir puts on a exciting display of nature's forces when it shoots columns of water some 30 m (97 ft.) into the air. And this happens every 4-8 minutes!!

Our next stop is the powerful and stunning Gullfoss (Golden Fall) waterfall with a drop of some 32 m (105 ft.).

On top of these main stops we also stop at the picturesque and peaceful waterfall Faxi and the idyllic Friðheimar greenhouse farm where we dare say the best tomatoes in Iceland are grown. Friðheimar might even be our choice for a quick lunch as their home-made tomato soup is out of this world.

Its possible to do 1 hour stop at the Secret Lagoon at Fludir where you can bathe and relax in its beautiful settings amongst the geothermal springs. It's recommended that you bring your own bathing suit and towel. Please note that admittance to the Secret Lagoon is not included in the tour price.

Optional stops might include, but are not limited to: the former south Iceland episcopal seat at Skálholt with its beautiful 20th century church built specifically with its acoustics in mind and the volcanic crater Kerið which erupted some 6500 years ago.

But as this is a private tour there is no real schedule and the pace is set by you, the customer.
